Hello, engineer Saberi, can you explain, first of all, what is a rubber diaphragm?
A rubber diaphragm is a flexible membrane, usually circular in shape, that is tightened around the edges. The main function of the diaphragm is to act as a seal between the two chambers. Rubber diaphragms come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes as well as custom molded diaphragm configurations. For example, we can offer PTFE-bonded rubber diaphragms for use with aggressive chemicals, fabric-reinforced rubber diaphragms for increased durability, or thin-walled rubber diaphragms with high tolerances.

How do rubber diaphragms work?
The pressure difference causes a rubber diaphragm to move up into one chamber or down into another, allowing a degree of movement between a fixed part and a moving part. Due to their low permeability to fluids and gases, rubber diaphragms maintain media separation on both sides of the diaphragm. They also ensure a constant pressure difference between the media and can provide a gasket function in the flange of a tool.
